From Feeling Invisible to Rediscovering Your Spark. Here's How I Did It.

The more we try to please others, the less they appreciate our efforts.

We've all done it. Given more. Bent further. Said yes one more time, thinking this would finally be the time it was enough. It never is.

I know this one. I lived it for years — the stress, the exhaustion, the quiet misery of trying to keep everyone happy. Until one day I realised something had to give. And it wasn't going to be me anymore.

I stayed in a corporate career for years, doing work that felt wrong for me, because the money was good and everyone around me thought I'd be mad to walk away. I kept explaining myself, kept justifying a choice that was never really mine to justify. Then one day, I stopped.

What I found on the other side was freedom. Not perfect, not finished — I'm still discovering it, still learning, still evolving.

But I trust myself more now than I ever did before. And if you're stuck in the overgiving, the people pleasing, stop for a moment and look at where you are. Chances are you're drained, exhausted, living a life that isn't quite yours — because it was never possible to please everyone around you and yourself at the same time. There is always someone unhappy with our choices. It might as well not always be us.

Be comfortable in doing your own thing. You owe no one an explanation or reasons for your choices. Sometimes what seems messed up to everyone else ends up being exactly right for you.

Every day, we have a choice. Keep telling our old story, or begin a new one.

Our future always follows the story we repeat.

Any transformation is never a straight line. It is often uncomfortable, and largely invisible to the world around us. But it's exactly where we need to be to continue growing.
