When one door closes, another one opens. We've heard it a hundred times. But have we ever really let ourselves believe it?

There's always another door. We just need to look at life in a way we were maybe too busy, or too scared, to look at before. Not because we weren't brave enough. But because it's hard to see a new door when we're still standing in front of the one that just closed.

Here's the good news. We can look up at any moment. Any day, any hour, any second. We're blessed with the ability to upgrade our minds and choose who we want to be, starting right now. Today, if we want to.

And by the way — some goodbyes aren't losses. They might just be life finally making room for us. Room for our needs. Room for our time. Room for the people and the growth we haven't met yet.

Isn't that a great thought? That every ending we've ever grieved might have simply been life clearing space for something better to walk in.

So if you're at the end of an old chapter, or right at the start of a new one — rejoice!

You haven't met all the people who are going to love and cherish you yet. You haven't seen all the sunrises and sunsets that are going to take your breath away. And you haven't laughed all the laughs, with the people you already know and love.

You get to meet all of it, as you keep moving forward.

That closed door behind you? It was never the end. It’s the beginning of a new chapter. It was just life clearing the way for you.
